Dr. Parthasarathy is the Custody and Emerging Capabilities Cell Director for the Space Development Agency (SDA). SDA is recognized as the Department of Defense’s constructive disruptor for space acquisition. The Custody and Emerging Capabilities Cell is responsible for deploying 24/7 all-weather space-based custody of missile and hypersonic threats, and new capabilities that enhance the use of space for National Security missions. SDA will quickly deliver much needed space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter to support terrestrial missions through development, fielding, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.
Dr. Parthasarathy brings three decades of technical and executive leadership in the aerospace, defense and manufacturing industry. Prior to joining the US Department of Defense (DoD), he led a team of 500 global professionals delivering technology-enabled supply chain solutions for the Army and Joint services of the US DoD. At Leidos, his executive positions included Vice President of Strategy, Business Development and Operations for the Defense Group. Prior to Leidos, Dr. Parthasarathy served as Senior Vice President of Technology and Strategy at LMI, where he led the practical implementations of innovation and digital technologies to solve challenges in public sector and government. Prior to LMI, he was Senior Vice President of Strategy at Cobham Advanced Electronics Solutions, a provider of Electronic Warfare, Radars, Missile Guidance, and space-qualified systems. He concurrently led the semiconductor solutions business delivering radiation-tolerant electronics for space, missiles, and medical applications.
In addition, Dr. Parthasarathy has extensive commercial and industrial experience. He led innovation at Honeywell’s aerospace guidance systems and managed the complete product life-cycle of commercial and defense avionics. He was a management consultant with the Aerospace and Defense practice of Booz Allen Hamilton, where he advised global clients on strategic growth and operational transformations.
Dr. Parthasarathy has a Doctorate degree in Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. He also holds a Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University.
